Water Walk ~ Lake Simcoe and Couchiching

Donation protected

Lakes Simcoe and Couchiching, home and playground to thousands, will be the latest host to a Water Walk this summer of 2014. This effort is by the Anishinaabe people, in particular the women, as they fulfil their ancient responsibility to care for the water. The Anishinaabe people are the original inhabitants of the Great Lakes region and we have never lost our love for our lands and waters. Our lakes, streams and rivers are under increasing threat from pollution and development and the Water Walk is to re-connect all of us spiritually to the waters that sustain our life and to pray for the health and well-being of all the waters.
