Cpl. Bret Ellis was diagnosed with cancer a year ago, and went through chemotherapy and two major surgeries. After his last surgery, he was told his cancer had returned, and he was to again have to endure chemotherapy.
On Tuesday, September 9th, Cpl. Ellis lost his fight with cancer. His professional family, the Aberdeen Police Officers Guild, is raising money to help the family with their various expenses.
Bret Ellis was a 19 year veteran of the Aberdeen (WA) Police Department, graduate of Aberdeen High School, and a United States Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife Becky Ellis, a former Aberdeen Police Officer, and their two young children. Bret was also the son of former Aberdeen Police Chief, William Ellis.
