Kick Cancer’s Butt with Jim Shrack

As most of you know, during the week of Thanksgiving, my father Jim
Shrack was diagnosed with Stage 4 Primary Peritoneal Cancer. It is an extremely rare form of cancer especially among men that is located on the tissue that surrounds the organs and abdominal wall. Because of its location in the abdomen, it is not usually discovered until it is already Stage 3 or 4. In his case, it is Stage 4 and he was told it was terminal. While we are getting reports that do not give a whole lot of time, we are still believing for full healing and restoration and for many years of life left.
This coming week our dad will begin his first round of chemotherapy. He has been told by doctors that it’s one of the more gruesome types of chemo because of how many tumors there are and how advanced his cancer is. Because of all of this, especially around the holiday seasons, my dad will not be able to work much, if at all, and we would like for him to not feel the pressure to rush into work during his chemo treatments.
Our dad is a great man and father to nine children and a grandfather to eight grandchildren. He has sacrificed a lot for his friends and family throughout his life. Many of you have asked how you can help and practically, this is one of the best ways at the moment. We have set a goal of $2,000, which is pretty low. Anything above and beyond will be deeply appreciated as it will help he and my mom not have to worry about the things in life that aren’t as important in times like this, such as money. We need him to be able to rest and get better. We’re believing that he will live long enough to actually look his age because he looks great for 67 :)
