Get Eric Back on his Feet

Donation protected
My brother Eric Whitley on 8/8/19 while out riding along Pacifica, HWY 1 California suffered catastrophic injuries to both his legs, fractured his L5 vertebrae, and 10 stitches near his right eye. What happened? He was riding his bike along a lookout point, when the path started to give way. He had the presence of mind to throw his bike down, jumped off but sadly could not regain his footing. He slipped, grabbed onto the edge with all his might, but could not hold on.

What happened next I can only imagine as the scariest moments of his life. He then proceeded to fall 40 ft and ricochet off multiple rocks before landing on his feet. The force of that impact, shattered both his tibia and fibula from both sides into multiple pieces. Both of his ankles were dislocated, broken, ligaments completely torn and a compound fracture in his left leg. Thankfully he was wearing a helmet which was completely shattered into pieces. By the grace of god a fisherman saw and found him.

Eric was then rushed to San Francisco General Hospital via ambulance.  He's been in the ICU for the last couple days and has already been in surgery to stabilize both his legs with external fixations.  He will undergo another surgery in about a week after inflammation has gone down to put internal fixations in both his legs.

After he is deemed physically able to leave the hospital he will begin comprehensive physical therapy at an assisted living facility for an extended period of time. His apartment is not wheelchair accessible and his bathroom is on the 2nd floor. It's going to be a long and costly road to recovery. At least 8 months to a year with no cash flow due to inability to work.

With monthly expenses minimum of approximately $1,600, and not counting what medical bills might not be covered.  We are asking for any amount you can afford to help his cause. We love and appreciate any contributions to him at this time.
