Our Mid Valley Baseball Association in our little town in Oregon has suffered a dibilitating blow both to our hearts and to our spirits. We are deeply troubled and saddened.
Our trusted treasurer has admitted to stealing more than $8,000 from two bank accounts that she was entrusted to maintain. She has been arrested, charged, and released. She left the association completely broke.
There are vendors to pay and no money to pay them with. Our community, town, and parents are completetly devastated.
Our baseball families, board and local businesses give of their time, money and efforts every season in order for our community youth to participate in baseball. It has hit us in the gut that all we have worked for is gone. We feel violated and deceived.
As we move forward from the shock, our first and utmost priority is to the kids. We want to ensure that the atrocity of one persons actions does not effect our children and their ability to play baseball this coming season. Our kids should not have a need to sacrifice due to the decisions of an adult.
We have a need to raise funds immediately. Funds are used for a number of needs including: insurance, equipment, fences, umpires, field prep, and most importantly scholarships for kids that can't afford to play, etc.
As the Mid Valley Baseball Association we have taken measures to ensure that a theft like this will never ever happen again.
We are asking for your help and support. Our organization signs up 90+ kids a year. They learn valuable skills that can help lead them into adulthood, as well as getting them to be active and into a positive environment.
Help us make baseball happen for next season!
