Open Heart Surgery took place on July 14, and after 8 hours, Jose came out of it and things are going as well as can be expected. He spent 2 days in intensive care before being moved to the Cardiac Care Ward, where we spent 3 more days. Recovery is going slowly but getting a little better every day, he is still struggling with low blood pressure and a high heart rate but as he transitions himself of the medications the surgeons prescribed to his natural medicines, he seems to be improving slowly. Recovery will take a least another two months and the difficult part is that without the medicaid kicking in yet seeing his primary care and buying meds are still difficult. On a trip to the pharmacy to pick up some insulin for him we were informed that it would cost $250.00 which we did not have, so we are working to find another pharmacy or program that might be able to assist us.  To date through everyones generosity we have made it this far and are confident that all will work out. We will meet latter this week with the medicaid office to try and clear up the hold they have on our case. The hospital placed Jose on presumptive Medicaid to cover the surgery and any related expenses, but again that only covers the hospital, primary care and meds are our problem. so once again we must ask for your help to make it through these next two months. Jose truly belives your prayers have gotten him this far and that the Creator will see us through these difficult times. Jose is hoping to return soon to his work with those suffering through Cancer and though this does not provide any income it is important to him.
