Help Coach Paul Bourgeois & Family

Donation protected
High School Football Coach Paul Bourgeois is no stranger to competition.  Over his 28 year coaching career in Louisiana and Texas he has led players through some extremely tough battles with pride and professionalism.  Win, lose,  or draw they were better for the experience.

Teaching players to fight through adversity comes natural for Coach Boo as he is  30 year plus Testicular Cancer Survivor!  He has been tested and challenged several times over the years but his devout faith and passion for life has kept him fighting the good fight .

In 1982 as high school quarterback,  Paul was diagnosed wih Testicular Cancer.  He survived surgery and chemo therapy treatment and was able to walk on as Quarterback at McNeese State University.  That's where he discovered his passion and desire to make a difference as a high school football coach.

Over his twenty eight years he has touched lives and made a positive impact in various programs:  St. Louis Catholic, West Monroe High School, Vidor High School, West Brook High School, Little Cypress High School, Sulphur High School, West Lake High School and most recent East Ascension High School.

In 2008 he was diagnosed with crainiopharynginoma, a benign brain tumor which required surgery and 8 weeks of radiation therapy, but by the Grace of God and awesome team of specialist at MD Anderson he survived  and was able to get back to coaching "His Boys".

Now after 7 years of all clear Coach is being faced with a reoccurence of the tumor requiring yet another major brain surgery on January 21st to save his eyesight.

He has "hung up his whistle" for now to face this battle "head on" with determination to beat it again.  His family, wife and daughter are now faced with much uncertainty including financial instability with mounting medical bills, travel expenses and loss of primary income support.

Whether you have played for him, worked with him, coached against him and/or just been lucky enough to call him friend, please consider giving back to the man that has dedicated his life and his health to making a positive difference in the lives of so many on and off the football field.
