Travels to Promote the Fiber Arts

Hello friends, family, and interested passersby. Thank you for taking a look at my project!
I am Jaida. I have spent the last three and a half years working on farms and in yarn stores. I had originally started my travels hoping to pursue a career as a photographer. Although there has been some success with my photography over this time, I would now like to combine all of my interests into one fantastic endeavor.
Firstly, in February I will be going on a 10 week trip to Europe, focusing my efforts in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Iceland. The second part of this project will be a road trip done in the U.S. over a span of 6 months starting next June.
My goal is to collect, compose and provide information regarding fiber farming practices, production mills, yarn companies and individual artists. I have a blog that will act as my main publishing source for the trips. I would like to use this as a way of connecting people to the fiber arts, as well as raising awareness to the importance that farming has on our environment. This will also be used to highlight the diverse physical and social landscape of the countries in focus.
Funds raised from this campaign will go towards travel costs (mainly car maintenance for the lengthy road time), supporting my website, getting any additional photography gear and gaining admission to various textile museums and tours.
Traveling the world has certainly been a dream of mine, and now I am seeing it as a necessity as well as a reality... Helping people, gaining life experience, and sharing this with those who are interested is something I am quite passionate about. I thrive on human connection and artful expression while continually striving to make a difference.
