HELO is a nonprofit corporation (501c3 certified) that supports an orphanage outside of Les Cayes, Haiti. HELO is what we strive to provide to the orphaned and abandoned children in our care -- Home, Education, Love and Opportunity.
HELO aims to provide the children with a loving environment where they can learn to read, write and then learn a trade. We currently have three homes, housing 53 children, provide quality education for more than 80 children as well as a community garden, soccer field, computer center and much more.
HELO needs a vehicle to transport children to the doctor (we don't think motorcycles are safe, especially for children), to get water, and many other errands. We currently have one motorcycle, which is not sufficient for the staff and children in our three homes.
A vehicle will also allow for more "field trips" so our children can enjoy more educational programs at the local botanical gardens and even visit the library in les Cayes! We hope this vehicle will open the door to more opportunities for these beautiful children and provide us with a reliable way to get them the help they may need in an emergent situation.
