Study Abroad in London

Mitauye Oyasin is the phrase, my people, the Lakota use to conceptualize interconnectedness. Literally it translates to, “we are all related.” We are a culture that has experienced many traumas, yet are still well rooted. The women in my life have been my strength and inspiration. If it were not for them, I would not be here today. I am a single mother, a first generation student and have never been outside of our Nation. Studying community health, housing and food insecurity abroad in London would allow me an opportunity I could not afford myself. I would be able to see another culture’s practices in socioeconomic deficits and how it contributes to personal health. This would be fulfilling to me not only educationally, but on a deeper sense. Intergenerational trauma is something I want to pursue my studies in clinical psychology practices around. It is important to me because I wish to serve my community while honoring my ancestors. Please help me achieve my dream.
My goal was to raise $500 for the deposit that was due March 3rd 2019. I was able to achieve this goal! Thank you for all your support and I will still be accepting donations for this trip.
