Help Us Rescue a Trafficking Victim
For most of us, human sex trafficking is a horror that we only read about. For others, it's a daily reality. In this case, it's been Penny's reality for more than 20 years.
Imagine knowing that your family knows, but will do nothing. Imagine knowing you'll be beaten today with nowhere to go. Imagine knowing that you'll be forced to sexually serve violent, abusive men with no choice. Imagine feeling your body break down a little more each day, and your hope fade away with it. Imagine having every dream of rescue, freedom, healing, and a different life start slipping though your fingers.
This is Penny's reality, and we want to help her change it.
We need your help.
We are under the gun and are running out of time to rescue and relocate Penny to a place where she can not only get away from the people who stole her life, but to a place where she can start over and reclaim her future. We have the chance to help save a life.
Because of the increased complexity and danger regarding Penny's situation, traditional rescue methods are off the table. Working with a team that has successfully rescued victims and moved them to safety, we are asking you to please help us put a critical puzzle piece into play and help us fund Penny's rescue and relocation as we move her from one coast to a safe house on the opposite coast. With multiple physical and mental health issues, ongoing financial support will be necessary. Help us bridge the financial gap!
EXPENSES GO TO:
- Various costs of her physical rescue
- Her immediate medical expenses
- Her transportation out of town
- 1 month of her living expenses
We can give you more detailed information when Penny's safety is secured. Collectively, we have more power than we realize. Let's help Penny take it back and give her the life and future she's always deserved.
RE: HOW DO WE MOVE PENNY?
Because relationships with Penny have been developed over a long period of time, and she is making the conscious choice to leave, then raids, police, force, etc are not required to "rescue" her. But the costs come up in different ways...
"Without identification and avoiding detection, the only safe way to move her across the country is to drive. This includes a rental car, gas, motel stays for the 4 day drive and food. We may have to take an additional day due to medical issues. One-way rental cars are very expensive, and if you prefer to donate a free auto rental voucher, it would also be very helpful and would allow Penny extra funds for her critical care. She will be also be utilizing community services when she arrives safely to her new location. However, this also includes her first month of care, as not all services are free or applicable for her very unique and dangerous situation." -Penny's Relocation Coordinator
This campaign has weighed heavy on all of us who have been a part of it - to see the complexities of the sex trade in a personal sense, and to see the schemes that darkness takes against those who want to bring light. And now, Penny is ready to leave, and our finances are going to help her do that!
As we once again take a huge step forward, we ask you to once again add Penny into your thoughts and prayers.
- That Penny maintains here resolve to get out of the mire and into safety and healing
- That her opportunity to leave stays open and gives her a safe passage.
- That every step of the funding process is not hindered by logistics or technical error (as has been)
- That the strategy for her relocation is successful
- That she finds safety and healing in her new community
Again, thank you for your willingness to help Penny, and for your patience and long-suffering with us in the arduous process.
-The Penny Team
Penny is kinda fluctuating about getting out of 'the life'. As you can imagine, it's very dangerous to leave, and she doesn't know anything outside of that world. But we're standing here, with open arms, ready for her when she's ready to make the decision. Pray for her:
To see an open door to walk through,
To feel the love from us and from God,
To be overcome with that love, which casts out fear,
To have a safe relocation and transition, whenever that time comes.
