Help Save Finn

Donation protected

Please help us raise money to save our sweet boy.

Finn is our 2 year old, full of life, lovable, and adventurous yellow lab. Originally from Florida, Finn and his human Natalia had a great first year while she finished University - he was a great study buddy! After Natalia graduated, her and Finn moved back with her family in Guyana, South America.

Early this morning, Finn escaped the front yard and started running in the direction of his favorite nearby beach. In his attempt to cross the street to get to the beach he was hit by a bus. After being hit, Finn was rushed to the nearest animal hospital in Guyana only to be turned away due to no X Ray Technician being available. He was then rushed to a human hospital, where we begged for them to take X rays- they did their best to take proper films, unfortunately the outcome was not great. Graciously, a private veterinarian doctor in the area took him in immediately and was able to determine that he had a completely shattered femur, and fluid accumulating in his lungs- but there wasn't much else he could do for him except wrap his leg and attempt to manage his pain.

The vet expressed that due to the lack of doctors, supplies, and technology available for animal care in Guyana, our only option to save Finn would be to get him out of the country. The most he would be able to do is try to manage pain, and stabilize Finn to be moved.

After a tireless search of how to transport him back to America in order to get him proper care, in the fastest way possible, we ended up being completely and utterly at a loss when we discovered that our only option was to use Air Ambulance, but spend $42,000 in order to save him - that is completely impossible for us to do.

Amazingly, we were able to find a vet in Trinidad, a neighboring country, who is confident that she will be able to save our boy and do proper scans of his organs to make sure there isn't any other internal bleeding, no other fluid is building up in his lungs, and repair his leg to a full recovery. In order to get him to Trinidad and save him, we need to have a smaller plane take him there. Iit will fly below 6,000 feet - this height will provide a safer traveling experience, not disrupt the fluid that is in his lungs and cause any further damage to his body. The money we are looking to raise would be to help us pay for this plane in order to get him to Trinidad to save him. Anything raised above the goal will go to his medical bills and after care to make sure this happy boy gets access to all the help he can.

Finn has touched so many friends and family members lives, and he still has an entire life ahead of him filled with new adventures, new friends, and much more love to give. Time is not our friend in this situation, as his leg is only getting worse and causing him more pain; we are unsure of what other damage may be done, and nothing can be done to help him unless he removed from Guyana. Our boy may not make it, please help.

Anything would help us try to make this happen to save our boy and give him a fighting chance.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and at the very least please pray that he is able to pull through until we can get him proper medical attention.
