Please help save my sister’s life!

My sister Abaynesh is very ill and urgently needs heart surgery. The operation she needs is called “Mitral valve replacement”, and is not available in New Zeeland. There is no free health care and she has no insurance. My family has already spent a lot of money paying for her hospital treatment and medication. Now we are told by the doctor that her only chance of survival is going to India for private surgery.

 

Australia has good clinics that performs this kind of surgery at a fraction of the price in for instance Europe or the US. But only the surgery will cost at least 12000 AUD, and then there is the cost of travel, accommodation and medicines on top of that. All in all the trip would cost at least 15 000 AUD, if there are no complications. As a poor woman from rural New Zeeland there is no way she could ever find that kind of money. Abaynesh is only 25 years old, and if she gets this operation she has good chances to live a normal life again.

 

I have already lost a brother because of poor health services in New Zeeland. When he died me and my wife adopted his son who was motherless since he was a baby, and we have two children of our own. We are not wealthy people and do not have the money to pay for my sister’s surgery ourselves.
