Bring Children to School in Ghana

Donation protected
Pupils at Ewando D/A primary school in the kpandai district in the northern Ghana study under trees and site on the floor following the collapse of their pavilion.

The school depended on an old pavilion built several years ago which has now collapsed making it impossible to use.

The school children whose population is about 700 and teachers with no option than having classes and offices under trees and sitting on the floor respectively.

Apart from no classroom issue, two or three pupils are seen sharing a desk meant for one while some are seen seated on the floor.

An ongoing issue that continues to confront Ghana’s education system is the lack of adequately suitable classrooms, furniture for all children to sit and learn.

The challenge leads to many school managers to improvise with trees and tree trunks where children sit to be taught.

Such situations are still prevalent in Ghana’s education system.

Many describe this situation as ‘schools under trees’. These have not been adequate and the situation still persists in many towns and rural communities, and in some cases even deteriorated over the years.

Your support today will fund the restoration of these school children, and provide the child with furniture and books.

Mark Sandow is working with local furniture makers to start the third project, Bawado school. Your contribution adds up, just as every brick makes a building. watch a full video and let us help these children.
