7Summits Scholarship Fund

Dear Donors,

Remember summer days at camp filled with adventure, comradery, self-discovery and falling asleep on the car ride home? Camp embodies a sense of acceptance and the accomplishment of challenging oneself.  It fosters a lasting impact on personal growth and cherished memories well into each camper’s adult lives.

At 7Summits Camp, we believe that a camp experience is an important and memorable part of a child’s life. We pride ourselves on quality programs that our campers look forward to each year. 7Summits Camp is about building friendships, cultivating a love of nature, building self-confidence and of course having fun! 7Summits encourages confidence and self-worth in our campers through a series of challenging activities including kayaking, cooperative games, archery, zip-lines, giant swings, pamper poles, high ropes courses, climbing towers, obstacle courses, creeking, and rappelling. Each of our activities focuses on at least one of our seven summits/character traits: friendship, cooperation, responsibility, risk-taking, trustworthiness, respect, and community. Counselors discuss these character traits each day with their campers.

With that in mind, we are starting the 7Summits Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund will provide three campers the opportunity to attend one week of camp at 7Summits. All donations to our scholarship will help us provide a lifetime of memories for a camper who otherwise wouldn’t have this opportunity.

Our goal for the inaugural year of this scholarship is to raise $1,118. This will create three individual scholarships, One in our Sherpa group ages 7 - 9, one in our Trekker group ages 10 -12 and one in our Adventurers group ages 13 - 15. Please consider making a donation to our scholarship fund. 100% of funds collected will be used to help send a child to 7Summits Camp.

Applicants (7-15 years of age) are required to write a letter explaining what a camp experience would mean to them. These letters will be reviewed by the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director, in order to select a scholarship recipient.

In the event that we surpass our goal, we will:

1.       Use remaining funds to create additional scholarship spaces, if possible.

OR

2.       Apply all remaining funds to the 2019 scholarship fund.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
