Community Music Recording Project

For those who are unaware of this project, Club Passim and the Iguana Fund have bestowed upon Red Line Roots a grant to fund a recording project in which 11 local songwriters chose to cover their favorite local songwriters. The hope is that the end product will reflect not just a subset of musicians around town, but that it will cast out a wide web based on their cover choices and perpetuate the growth our ever thriving community here in town. We have finished tracking for this project and have begun the mixing process, which then leads to mastering and CD duplication thereafter. What you may not know is that all of these things tend to be rather expensive. In order to truly do this right and to be able to make the record free to the public as is our plan, we do need help to make it realize the full potential. Which is where you all come in.
The true spirit of this project is building a community and strengthening the bonds across a large spectrum of people, both in the artist community and the fans of the music. We truly embraced that in studio with spontaneous collaborations and musicians watching and listening to one another record these truly special versions of songs that hold a place in their heart and we want to invite you all to be a part of that.
The important thing here is that no donation is too small and every dollar we are able to raise does in fact help the greater cause. That dollar may be the difference between having an extra minute in the studio mixing, or an extra copy of the CD to be given out to radio and blasted across the airways, or allow us to proceed with another volume of this project and keep the engines turning.
As a thank you for your donations and to further attest to the giving spirit of all the folks involved, you will receive original music from the artists involved in the project. That's right, the contributing cover artists were kind enough to donate their own original music as gifts for your donations: $2 donation will get you an original track from an artist on the project, $5 will get you 4 original artist tracks, and $10 or more will get you an original track from at least 7 of the artists that are featured on the Locals Playing Locals compilation. Furthermore...if you donate $15 or more I will throw in a copy of my own personal latest release (March 25th release date) titled "Miscellaneous". (All tracks will be in digital download format). Or heck, if there is something I can do for you personally, then maybe we can make that work! Cover a song of your choice, give you tickets to an upcoming show presented by Red Line Roots, shovel your driveway?
