Get The Collegian to the NCAA Tournament
Now, The Collegian sports staff hopes to continue that tradition at the NCAA Tournament by sending two beat reporters and a photographer to cover an event UMass hasn't qualified for in 15 years. But due to financial constraints, we're asking for your help.
Throughout the season, the staff has independently funded travel to sites such as George Washington, Saint Joseph's, George Mason, Rhode Island and the TD Garden, and plans to attend Brooklyn, N.Y., for the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament. But the NCAA Tournament poses significant travel concerns, with potential sites stretching as far as Spokane, Wash., and San Diego. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
The Collegian plans to deliver the strongest possible coverage of UMass' NCAA Tournament run to the campus and surrounding areas, and we're asking for your assistance to aid us in delivering fresh, original content. Below are links to our coverage from throughout the season.

Thank you for your time,
Massachusetts Daily Collegian Sports Staff
We'd like to once again thank you for your extraordinary generosity and support. Having the ability to travel and cover the NCAA Tournament was a tremendous and invaluable learning experience as young journalists. We're incredibly appreciative for your help in allowing us to continue a fine tradition at the Collegian. You can bet the NCAA credential will be stored in a safe spot for years to come.
The funds raised will continue to benefit the Collegian in the future, as we plan to use the remaining balance to aid writers in traveling to road sites in the future. Since we are independently funded, this will go a really long way.
Thank you again and we hope you enjoyed the coverage.

We'd like to extend our gratitude and appreciation for all the help and support over the last week or so. With UMass' regular season coming to a close yesterday and the Atlantic 10 Tournament schedule set, postseason play is gaining on us fast. This is a really exciting time for all of us and we're so grateful for the support in making a NCAA Tournament run possible.

And thank you for the immense support the numerous Collegian and UMass alumni (and non-alums) have shown for our newspaper. It's humbling.
I believe that "MDC 2013-14 basketball issue" is one of the best college newspapers I've ever seen. Check out that coverage if you haven't been following the team.
