Sometimes God tests us in a truly unimaginable way that we can't comprehend. However, it is not our place to question, but it is our responsibility to join together and have faith that God will take the pain away with His own plan. This pain, both physical and emotional, is experienced by not only the sick but by the entire community of supporters. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends far and wide all feel the pain caused by serious illness.

Our precious baby Sophia has been diagnosed with stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma. This is a rare cancer which has made its way into her kidney, liver and stomach lining. Our family knows she is a strong little fighter and will beat this disease.

We graciously ask you for a donation which will help her parents, Nicole and Adam, with all the mounting expenses related to Sophia's healthy recovery. Your contribution will assist the family with medical bills, meals, and any special needs for their baby girl. We also welcome your continued prayers for God to heal Sophia and to keep the family strong, as she fights the battle of and for her life.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

SHE DID IT!!!! SOPHIA VS. CANCER. SOPHIA WON THIS BATTLE SO FAR.

Recently, our prayers were answered as we were blessed with the most amazing news! In May, after Sophia finished 16 months of treatments, we learned her initial scans were tumor free. Moving forward, Sophia will be scanned every three months to make sure her body remains tumor free. We are so blessed and grateful to let all of you know that her round of scans, in August, were also tumor free. Our family can finally breathe a sigh of relief!

Our days are now filled with Sophia learning about the world, since her life was on hold for a year and a half. We are also busy with follow-up appointments to the amazing team of oncologists, nurses and staff at Joe DiMaggio. We also have periodic visits to her cardiologist due to the harsh chemotherapy drugs she received to save her life. Sophia is also in speech therapy and occupational therapy to help with her continued development. We will get her where she needs to be one day at a time.

Sophia is the most amazing little girl we have ever met. All she knew for 16 months straight was the hospital and being hurt, so when it came time to enjoy fun, daily activities she was beyond scared. It has taken time to reintroduce her to swings, the beach, splash pads, pools, and sand boxes. We can now say she loves all the activities mentioned above. We want to thank the unconditional love from our family, friends and neighbors who have included her in playgroups and invited her to birthday parties as well as simple things like playing in the neighborhood.

Our family was so unlucky for Sophia to get cancer, but now we can say that we are so lucky to have Sophia today. She is a survivor! We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who prayed for Sophia. We received all your notes of encouragement, church prayer group letters, stickers, toys and children’s drawings. Every time we opened the mail we had good wishes coming our way. There are no words to express how it made us feel. All we can say is THANK YOU. Please continue to keep Sophia in your prayers.

XOXO Nicole, Adam & Sophia

**Please donate blood, you never know whose life you might be saving.**

Recently Sophia had successful surgery to remove her tumors. The next 5 weeks Sophia went through radiation with chemotherapy to target the remaining cancerous cells in her abdominal region. The next journey consists of a mixture of in patient and outpatient chemotherapy to let the drugs do their job and kill the remaining cancer. We want to thank everyone for their continued love, support and prayers as Sophia's journey continues.

Sophia had another few night stay at the hospital. This treatment was rough on her, but she battled through it and is now home relaxing. She gets to spend Mother's Day with her mommy! Sophia picked out a special Mother's Day gift for Nicole at an event the hospital hosted. Sophia is so happy to be home where she gets to play dress up, play with all her toys and relax before her next treatment. She is such a trooper, even through tears she claps to show that she is proud of herself. We couldn't be more proud of this precious girl!
