In two months with only two fundraisers you have managed to raise 110% for Shannon's service dog.
The amount you gave doesn't matter, 5 or 500 we are just so grateful that you gave at all. THANK YOU!
Maybe you donated for the garage sale or helped during the fundraisers. THANK YOU!
Maybe you prayed. THANK YOU!
Thank you for seeing our need and answering the call.
The extra money and any money we continue to collect will go to getting the dog and her trainers here and her care and upkeep.
Stay tuned to our Facebook page as I will post pictures and videos of Angel and her training.
Thank you again and God bless!
Meet "Angel", she has been chosen for Shannon. She was rescued from a shelter. She is 12 weeks old. "Angel" has passed her preliminary testing and is being trained for Shannon. If her training goes well she should be ours in 8 months. If it does not go well Service Dogs for Independence will select another dog for Shannon.
I hope that "Angel's" training goes well and that she is the one. "Angel" was her name in the shelter and I think it is perfect, when she finishes her training she will be Shannon's guardian angel.
Our next fundraiser will be another garage sale. It was so rewarding. We were able to share information about service dogs, autism and how living with Shannon changed our lives.
....So we are accepting donations of items for the garage sale.

Shannon is our beautiful little girl, she is so funny, and lights up a room with her smile and she LOVES animals. No matter what size or shape she doesn't discriminate- horses, dogs, cats, chickens, bunnies to her it doesn't matter; she even holds snakes. Shannon was diagnosed with Autism at 21 months old. Shannon's Autism is complicated by her seizure disorder that is worsened by over stimulation. Recently, Shannon has developed a behavior very common to people living with Autism called Elopeing and Bolting. Which causes her to wander or bolt away from safety much like a person with dementia.
A service dog for Shannon will be trained specifically to meet her needs. The most urgent need her dog will meet is the ability to track her scent, hold and retrieve her when she wanders or bolts. Her service dog will also be able to help with self-soothing during melt downs and socialization by serving as a bridge to the people in the community that ask about her dog. Shannon's dog will provide her with deep pressure which helps calm her down before she has a meltdown. This would allow our little girl to live her life more fully. Shannon's dog will also be able to help her with the seizures by providing stability or a brace.
Please help us support our little princess and give her all the tools she needs to live her life to the fullest.
