Hello friends and family--
As most of you know Paige and Tewayne welcomed their baby into the world 14 weeks early. Paige was experiencing preeclampsia (high blood pressure and high protein levels). She was admitted to the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center on 2/22/2014. They started her on a Magnesium drip to bring blood pressure down.Paige had to stay at the hosptial overnight and be evaluated. Her blood pressure finally came down and stayed down but her protein levels continued to increase. The OB doctor on-call made the decision to transport her to Baptist at Little Rock to deliver the baby.
LYNNIX MONROE SMITH entered the world on February 24, 2014 at 12:48 a.m. She weighted 1 lb. 2 oz. and was 11 in. long. Immediately she was taken to the NICU where she will remain for the next 3-4 months. She has already impressed us all with her FIGHT to live. With God on our side and amazing prayers warriors we have faith that Lynnix will only continue her fight to live.
As of 3/04/2014, Lynnix has had an ECHO and Head Scan which came back as normal. Every six hours Lynnix has her hematocrit, blood pressure, oxygen levels in blood, white blood cell count, platelet count, and her gas levels checked. She has a respiratory therapist and a physical therapist that visit her daily. Lynnix's next major exam with be her eye exam that will take place on 4/08/2014. Let's all pray for this exam to come back with great results.
Sometimes we need a miracle-- but when Paige and TeWayne look into their daughters eyes, they realize have already created one.
Paige and TeWayne are able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House located about 5 minutes away from Baptist. Paige will not be working for the next 3-4 months so that she can continue to pump and be with Lynnix. TeWayne has already returned to work and will make the drive to Little Rock every weekend to be there with Paige and baby Lynnix.
THIS IS WHERE WE- THEIR CLOSEST FRIENDS AND FAMILY HELP OUT!!! Any donation made through this page will go directly to help with the extra expenses that Paige and TeWayne will occur (gas, food, and any expenses related to Lynnix). Keep in mind, they will be paying regular expenses (rent, utilities, etc) with only one income now.
