We are a group of 4 ambitious engineering students from Tunisia and we recently won Hult Prize@ (link)which is a social entrepreneurship competition for students from all around the globe. We managed to come up with a life changing project idea that will make an impact into harnessing the power of energy and providing those who have limited access to electricity and gas with an optimized energyless solution.
We are only one step ahead of getting the chance to compete for $1 million in the final round in New York next September, but first we are proud to say that we will be representing our country in the Regional Competition in Cairo next March, thus, to make this dream happen, it will mean the world for us to get your donations and support that will help us with the travelling costs (Visa – Flight Tickets – Accommodation)
as soon as possible to confirm our participation.
Brief project description:
Despite the technological evolution that touches many vital activities, a lot of people around the world are still using wood and charcoal for cooking and heating their locals. the Household air pollution results in more than 4.3 million deaths a year according to the BCD. Moreover, gathering wood is a tiring daily activity and contributes in deforestation. Eco2ok is a low coast stove which is less energy consumer ,80%less carbon emissive and exploit the power of wood fire for both cooking and heating water with the same wood quantity: we optimized the exploitation of wood combustion generated energy. By using Eco2ok, the risk of health diseases will significantly decrease and the time that was dedicated for wood gathering will be reduced to the half, enabling needy families to get more time for other activities (Educating children, Looking for extra income …).
