My father, my hero

Donation protected

Gracias ! :)

We have been living in a world where cops are portrayed as the enemy, but this is a skewed perspective. I would like to take a minute to tell you about a man in blue willing to give it all up to make his home a safer place. Two weeks ago, two respected drug enforcement officers were involved in a stakeout that would end fatally.
I am a Marine; my name is Patrick and Marcelino Perez is my father-in-law, I am writing this on his behalf for my wife and his eldest daughter Luz. He is a father to three; two daughters and a son. Marcelino has been a dedicated police officer in Puerto Rico for the past twenty-one years; sixteen of which have been spent with the drug enforcement division.
Marcelino and his partner were ambushed during a stakeout by men with fully automatic weapons; He was shot more than fifteen  times and his partner and SGT lost his life. By the grace of god Marcelino was able to find the strength to make his way to their radio and call for help; considering the amount of blood loss and severity of these injuries this was a miracle all on its own. From there he was airlifted to the hospital where he was in critical condition. The doctors were able to stabilize him only to tell that he would be losing a leg. A few days later part of Marcelino’s right leg was amputated.
Since the shooting, followed by the different operations Marcelino has remained in excellent spirits; just happy to be alive and have his family by his side helping him through the changes that are to come. We are just hoping for donations in any amount to help with Marcelino’s extensive medical and physical therapy bills so he can focus on his recovery.
Marcelino is a hero; he lost his leg in an effort to continue trying to make his home a safer place for all to be through his unwavering commitment to justice and keeping the people safe.
Thank you to all that are keeping him in your prayers; and thank you all that are able to make a donation.
