Bosnia / Serbia flood disease prevention

We are trying to provide prevention of mass scale infection in flood areas. Thousands of animal and hundreds of human corpses are still unaccounted for as the temperature rises.

As many people are still in area, some of them can't or wont leave their homes out of fear or shock - we want to provide direct help to those people.

Lack of clean water, the rise of dust and dirt due to wind and heat and the fact that many are still stuck in these areas, with open wounds and without needed sanitary solutions, makes this the most terrifying prospect in the flood aftermath

We are some of the first responders to the flood cataclysm that struck Serbia and Bosnia. I am personaly from Belgium, but in Serbia at the moment. We have more internatinal volonteers coming in.

Many of us a divers, pilots, medical personel and altruists.

Some of us just returned from Doboj, a small town completely devastated by flood (still underwater for a better part.) Others were helping in Obrenovac (Serbia) with evacuation of citizens.

In both cities, water raised high and fast, and many people and animals stayed trapped bellow water level.

We now have a heatwave approaching, and this will make it extremely
dangerous for those who are still in the area.

There is a lack of drinking water and food, and there are criminal groups hijacking humanitarian help being send (there are several incidents of this - some arrests were made).

While the main focus of most aid organizations is evacuation, many families don't want to leave their homes however destroyed they are.

We want to directly help those people. Some of us know how hard it is to leave home, we have seen it and done it the war times.

We want to provide these families with waterfilters, babywipes, medical aid, bandages and of course drinking water and food. However our main effort will be in identifying crisis spots where corpses are, both human and animal, and help in cleaning these areas before the heatwave strikes and decomposing accelerates.
