Dear Friends of Diane Torr,
Diane is now in hospice, being well cared-for. We were able to use the money raised on this page to take taxis to her appointments, get massages, pedicures, and acupuncture. We now have about 5,000 pounds remaining of the money that was raised. This money (and any more that is raised) will go to pay for the cost of services in Glasgow at the end of her time here with us on Earth, and for memorial services in NYC.

Dear Friends of Diane Torr,
Diane's Story:
As you will know, Diane has just come through 6 weeks of radiotherapy which is the first part of her treatment for a brain tumour. She's done really well so far, is having fantastic support from both Beatsons Hospital in Glasgow and the amazing Maggie's Cancer Support Centre next door who are looking after her beautifully, as well as having help from friends locally in Glasgow.
Diane will start the next phase of her treatment in the new year. She's strong and fit, she eats healthily and supports herself with Tai Chi classes and walking, but of course she's very tired at the moment and needs a lot of rest to recuperate.
What She Needs:
One thing Diane could do without at the moment is worrying about her financial security; she had to cancel two stretches of work in Berlin and Vienna when she was first diagnosed, and consequently lost a large chunk of income that she was counting on earning- about 5,000 pounds. So now she just has her state pension to fall back on. We were successful in raising the 5,000 pounds, so we have extended to a STRETCH goal of 8,000 pounds to ensure her financial stability for the coming months.
How YOU Can Help:
It would be really fantastic if we, her nearest and dearest, could pull together and try and raise that amount of money (or more!) for Diane: this would be to help her with living expenses, bills, treatments, taxis if she needs them, and just so she knows she has cash in the bank to help her feel secure. Diane is famous for her generosity to friends: she never turns up to visit us without a bunch of presents in her (massive!) suitcase, and she's one of the most supportive and loyal friends you could have. So let's show her how much we love, appreciate, and want to support her through her treatment and out the other side by donating whatever we can afford.
