Support for Ben's Family

Our family recently suffered a devastating blow when our son, brother, nephew and cousin Benjamin was seriously injured in a car accident on the night of Saturday, June 16th – the night before Father’s Day.
Benjamin, better known by friends and family as Ben, was a passenger in a car that hit a pole at high speed, as a result of which he suffered a traumatic brain injury. The accident left him in a two-week coma and in the ICU for one month thereafter. He continues to face a long road to recovery with his recent transition to an acute rehabilitation center, where he is receiving intensive daily physical, speech and occupational therapy.
We are beyond grateful that Ben is showing progress, and we remain prayerful that he will regain a meaningful quality of life despite anticipated impacts to his cognitive and physical condition, the full extent of which is still unknown. Those most impacted by Ben’s life-changing circumstances are his four-year-old daughter, Sydnie, and his fiancée, Ashley.
Ben is a wonderful, hardworking man who, until his accident, was the primary breadwinner for his family. Less than two weeks before his accident, Ben had started a new job that he was excited about after an 8-year tenure with a technology firm. This sudden, life-changing accident has left Ashley and Sydnie faced with an unsustainable loss of income. Despite her perseverance, she is unable to sustain ongoing monthly expenses, including Sydnie’s school fees, on her salary alone.
Ashley and Sydnie are in need of immediate financial assistance while Ben is on the long road to recovery, expected to span several more months, at a minimum. We are launching this campaign to raise up to 12 months’ support funds for Ashley and Sydnie to enable them to cover their living expenses during Ben’s convalescence and recovery.
We remain prayerful about the outlook for Ben’s health and wellbeing, and ask all reading this to keep him in your thoughts and prayers as well. In the meantime, knowing that Ashley and Sydnie are taken care of while Ben is unable to contribute will alleviate a great deal of stress from an already highly stressful situation.
