Capstone China Trip

We are the students in the Chinese Immersion Program. We want to reach as many people as possible to raise funds for our trip to China in March 2017, so our program started this page.

The Chinese Immersion Program has reached its 10-year anniversary.  When the program began, the hope was that we could travel on an educational trip to China to use the language that we have studied since we started public school in the Chinese Immersion program in District 742.


The St. Cloud School Board has approved this opportunity for 8th and 9th grade Chinese Immersion students to travel to China.  This trip is being sponsored by the Confucius Institute at Saint Cloud State University in collaboration with ISD 742.  We will be the first students to be a part of this cultural exchange.


We will visit the cities of Beijing and Changchun, a school, university, sites such as the Great Wall of China, and stay with a Chinese Family. This will give us an amazing opportunity to use our language skills and gain cultural understanding.



The money raised will be used for travel expenses. Our stay in China has been sponsored by the Confucius Institute, but the airline tickets, transfers, visas, and other travel related costs are estimated at $1500 per student.  We are excited to have this opportunity and are grateful for any assistance that you can provide!
