Missy's Surgery Fund
Meet Missy, a 4 month old black lab puppy looking for a second chance. Found on a country road after being run over and suffering gruesome injuries (shattered femoral head and broken pelvis), Missy has never stopped fighting. Although she currently can't walk or even use the restroom properly, Missy is truly a trooper. She has given us an immense joy in our short time with her, and we hope we can do the same for her. Unfortunately, Missy needs not one, but two costly surgeries that must be performed ASAP for her to have any chance of recovery. So, from the bottom of our hearts, we are asking for donations to give a great dog a much needed second chance. Any and all help on her road to recover will be greatly appreciated!
Mississippi (Missy) had her first surgery this past Thursday and her second one the following day. The surgeon performed an FHO on both sides (1 on each day). This was not the original plan, but since she made so much progress in 1 week, the Dr felt that her pelvis has a good chance of healing on its own. This is great news and so far has saved so much money! She is doing so well and recovering fast. She goes to her first physical therapy visit next week, in the meantime I am trying to fatten her up , potty train, keep her out of EVERYTHING, all the fun normal puppy stuff. I am so thankful to everyone who was so generous in raising the funds to get her the best help she needed. I cannot wait for her to live a long, happy life!
