Family in Need of Home

My daughters family was scammed into renting a foreclosed home from a man who claimed to be the owner of the home. They spent all of their savings on what they believed was the downpayment for the house. After signing a lease and giving the man (who claimed to be named Matt McCarty) $1000.00 in cash, they were given the key to the home. The next day, while painting and ripping carpet out of the home, a man from HUD knocked on the door and informed them that the home was in foreclosure and was going up on the market to be sold the following week. This past year has already proved to be beyond difficult for them; their son was born with Congenital Heart Disease and has required two open heart surgeries. He has also had a stomach operation because he was born with twisted intestines. Furthermore, he was diagnosed with a chromosomal abnormality known as 47,XYY (Jacob's Syndrome). They were looking forward to moving to provide a more open space for their son to grow up in. We are trying to raise back the money they gave to this scammer to help them get the home they need. Anything you can spare to help this family get the home they deserve would be great for not only my daughter and son-in-law, but my grandson as well. They have been through way too much and they need all the help they can get. Thank you!
