7000 Prayers for Madonna

Madonna “Crystal” Fletcher is a gentle soul. That’s the first thing I thought when I met her more than three years ago.  At that time, she was a companion to my late Grandmother, caring for her with grace and compassion in her last days. Crystal, as she is known to most of us, then became more deeply connected to our family as nanny to our young daughter. As I grew to know her more, I was awed by her easy serenity, not typical for someone her age, complemented by a quiet fierceness that hinted at the great obstacles she has had to overcome in her life. Since the age of 17, she has had to work hard – jobs ranging from chicken farm to housekeeping. All to help care for her parents and her young son.

Since coming into our home, we have grown to love and cherish her as part of our family. When we found out in June that our dear Crystal was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cervical Cancer, there were no words to describe our utter and complete devastation. It was too much. Too wrong. Not suppose to happen to someone so young. Crystal is just 29 years old.

But now is not the time for sorrow - now is the time to support her – to help her in any way that we can to fight the battle ahead. Crystal begins her chemotherapy soon. Shortly after that, she will begin radiation. The down payment before she can even start her radiation therapy is $5000. Our 7000 prayers for Madonna hopes to raise the funds for her down payment, as well as extra towards her chemotherapy. We thank you all for your help, wishes and prayers. We know that you are strong Crystal and this too you shall overcome. We love you.
