Gresham Barlow Operation Backpack

Operation Backpack was started in 2017 to raise backpacks,school supplies, hygiene products and non perishable easy to fix foods for our Gresham-Barlow school district kids that could use a little help with basic necessities. In two years we have thrived! Every summer we hold a car show to raise these items and occasionally we have food drives around the great city of Gresham. Each week, the school bus drivers of First Student Gresham pack meals for Saturday and Sunday that are easy to fix without adult supervision and they deliver them to our districts schools. Often times, students need basic necessities like hygiene supplies and simple meals to get them through the weekends. This isn’t because their families don’t provide. This is quite often families are working and struggling to provide and they don’t meet the requirements for government assistance. That’s where we step in and help a little. Members of our community have been amazing with their help. This account is for those who would like to make donations but don’t have time to purchase items to bring to us. These funds go to purchasing hygiene supplies, food and basic clothing needs for our children who could use it. Occasionally it will go to emergency situations as well.
