On-going Cancer Treatment For Father of two

Donation protected
Hi everyone, this update is extremely difficult for me to share so please bear with me whilst I attempt to explain things. At the moment things look very bleak for me and my family!

Unfortunately, following a recent series of scans we have been given the devastating news that my cancer has again progressed. Complications with my case occurred in mid December 2018 when it was discovered that, in addition to the Liver/Bone/Stomach cancers, I had also developed a cancerous growth on my brain. I have been advised that I need urgent medical intervention and, in the meantime, I should be preparing for the worst!

My NHS Medical Team here in the UK are, unfortunately, constrained by the ‘rules’ in place and are only able to offer me limited Palliative Care with Chemotherapy which they have stated is unlikely to help. Furthermore, the Clinical Molecular Trial (London based) for which I have been waiting now for some months has now become unavailable due to my worsening condition. This is directly linked to the brain cancer, so this condition has now become the priority to address.

I have also recently been involved in consultations with various specialists in Mexico, the USA and China however my hopes have been dashed once again as I am unable to travel to these locations due to my inability to secure travel insurance. My discussions concerning my rare case continue with Dr. Meza at the Sanoviv Clinic (Mexico) in tandem with European sources to identify Treatment Centres closer to home.

We are currently in discussions with clinicians at the Cromwell Hospital in London to discuss private treatment involving Gamma Knife Therapy which is suitable to treat the brain issues. Once this aspect is treated it will open up new avenues to be able to address the Liver/Bone/Stomach problems and enable access to future Medical Trials including phase 2 Trials. Of course, the clinicians cannot offer any guarantees however this looks my best option to get things under control until I find further treatment that is on-going. An offer to see my two lovely girls grow up is all I can hope for at present.

As you will appreciate, I have many issues to address and these are not just related to the financial aspects. My family’s journey through these troubling times is one of mixed emotions meaning that some days are better than others as options come and go, however the ability to secure effective treatment options draws nearer. This is by far the most confidence I’ve had in a long time as I feel like I have some hope again, but it really is a race against time to get the treatment underway. This is where we need your help so as to be able to secure sufficient funds to cover the treatment costs; I'm trying to raise £50,000. This money will pay for the brain operation at The Royal Cromwell which is at present stands at £19k but because of the time elapsed they might have to take more cancerous growths out depending on what they find after an MRI scan. Furthermore, swelling has increased on my brain and it has been affecting my speech. I could be in there as soon as next week with limited side-effects and as a result I could start the trial within weeks. I am also losing weight due to the stomach cancer that is called Cachexia. I am also having Mitochondria Therapy for Cancer in London to rebalance some of the chemical imbalances so I can absorb nutrients and process fats. During my liver op my gall bladder was taken out, this has caused problems with my bile which is unable to break down fats . I have also been advised to take Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment sessions as cancer cannot live in high oxygenated environments. There is a treatment centre locally in Norfolk. I also require a whole range of High-dose vitamins and supplements and other facets to help me combat this terrible condition.

I have set up a Go Fund Me page and I would really appreciate your support.'

This is by far the most confidence I’ve had in a long time as I feel like I have some hope again, but it really is a race against time to get the treatment underway. I can't tell you how much I appreciate even the smallest donation; it means to world to me and my family.

A variety of fundraising ideas will also be happening such as music events throughout the year.
