Keep Breathing Jenni

My mom, Jennifer Nichols has been struggling with severe asthma all her life. Asthma is a fairly common disease. For people with severe asthma, the main perscription is prednisone.  Prednisone is an amazing medication to take, however, this is not true in the long term. My mom was diagnosed with asthma when she was 13 and has been struggling ever since. Her lungs became dependent on prednisone to keep functioning, so there was no choice but to keep her on the drug. The long term side effects of prednisone are far from beneficial however. Some of the side effects my mom has been diagnosed with are, steroid induced diabetes, osteoporosis, tracheomalacia, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Cushing's disease, cataracts, glaucoma, and obesity all within years of each other. My mom is now 38 years old and is struggling to get through each day. She has been more than an amazing mother. She has two kids, Jeremiah(18)and Katy(12) and has been married to her husband Barry for 12 years. My family is from Norfolk, NE and we have been all over the state looking for answers. Countless trips to Omaha and Lincoln and the doctors are starting to lose hope. This year God has shined his light on my family and we have been given hope of getting my mom better, but we need YOUR help. Doctors want to get my mom to Denver, Colorado, where there is a Asthma Clinic that is one of the most respected in the United States. Obviously we don't have the funds to be able to do so because of my mothers medical bills. This is where I need your help. I ask you today to help my mom and our family get to Denver to be able to get answers and help my mom see the years ahead before it's too late. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
