"No One Fights Alone"

Donation protected
In July 2017 our lives changed suddenly. My husband Michael Rogers Sr. was diagnosed with stage IV squamous cell carcinoma of the tonsil. We are people of great faith. Michael has kept a positive outlook throughout 40 radiation and 5 chemo treatments.
It is our belief that No One Fights Alone. This is where we need your help with donations.

Michael's weight has plummeted from 180 to 130.  All foods must be pureed due to trismus. Most common issues are mouth ulcers which cause difficulty speaking, fatigue, & constipation due to certain medications.

Michael's latest PET scan showed that the tumor has  metastasized & showed an active spot on lung. Where the tumor metastasized it left a fistula in his throat & makes it difficult for him to swallow.  It breeds bacteria &  has created an infection.

At this point the oncologists are discussing with ENT of possible options. We feel that alternative treatments would benefit Michael in the most successful of outcomes.

Due to his health declining, undergoing treatments & heavy medications he is no longer employed. I resigned to become his fulltime caregiver.

This fundraising effort is to help offset medical bills, copays for weekly doctor visits, medication, travel expenses, living expenses, medical supplies, treatments , alternative treatments, and reconstructive surgery to repair the fistula.

Michael is a devoted father of two children Brittany Rogers and Michael Rogers Jr. & a loving  GDad of Taniya Rogers. A wonderful husband & provider during our 37 years of marrriage. His smile and humor is contagious. Never met a  stranger. Michael graduated from John Shaw High School Class of 1976. He was employed at Sears Parts & Services for many years. He is very loved by his colleagues at Springhill Medical Center.
Every donation no matter how small will help out immensely so that he can focus not - on providing for his family but - on what is truly important to his loved ones his full & speedy recovery.

All gestures are warmly accepted and welcomed by Michael & his family during this strenuous time. We greatly appreciate your support & well wishes  for our dear dad, grandfather, brother & husband.
