April Follies Same-Gender Dance

$3,310 of $8,000 goal

Your support may mean the difference between hosting the largest same-gender ballroom dance competition in North America or not. April Follies is a primarily all-volunteer, bootstrapped community event produced by the nonprofit organization -- Bay Area Same Sex Dance Association (BASSDA). In the face of a federal assault on queer rights, April Follies stands as a beacon of joy and celebration.

All the competitors featured in the film have competed in April Follies and most will compete in the 2018 Gay Games in Paris.

Our goal is $8,000 which covers the cost of renting the venue. As many of you know, Oakland experienced the highest percentage rent increases in the country in 2017, making hosting such an event more and more difficult.

Your contribution is entirely tax-deductible. BASSDA Tax ID # 27-0782283. Thank you, in advance, for your support.
