Help Makayla-8 yr old DC shooting victim

Eight year old Makayla is out of surgery this morning, but it's only the beginning of a long journey to full recovery. Two Saturdays ago she was promoting her school's optional Saturday Reading Jam to her friends, and today she is recovering in a hospital in Northeast DC after being shot in the upper body near her chest on Valentine's Day as she walked home from her aunt's house.  100% of all donations will be used by Makayla's family to fund her healing and recovery, the costs of which will likely be far above our initial goal.  This fund raising effort is being led by the Imagine Southeast (ISE) Public Charter School Family where Makayla is a much loved Third Grader who has been there since Kindergarten.  The entire ISE team invites you to join us on Makayla's healing journey.
