On Sunday February 9, 2014 the Polhill Family of Oak Valley, NJ lost everything in a house fire. Their house was a total loss. They have FIVE, yes FIVE, children! The children are from 1 year old to 9 years old. Mom is an educator and Dad is a Correction's Officer. They were unable to salvage anything in the house. They lost their brand new puppy :( They could use all the help they can get. As a community, we have come together to help lift them up and have collected many clothes and some necessities. There is so much that they need. Any monetary donation appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

Update 7

Here is an update on the Polhill Family! Their medical insurance company is refusing to pay for one of their son's medications, even with the tragic fire that ripped through their home. Their 6 yr old daughter and 7 yr old son also lost their glasses in the fire. In trying to get everything in order, they are putting a lot of money out. Every penny you donate helps. Thank you again for all the support. They are a wonderful family!

Hi Jamie, The Polhill Family was scheduled to receive a delivery on Valentine's Day of a Fruit Basket for the kids. We have been unable to make the delivery of course, as a result of the fire. I would like to know where I can deliver the fruit bouquet, and we plan on adding some special touches! Can you call me at 856-753-4383 to discuss? Thank you! Fran

My heart and Prayers go out to the Polhill family at this, the most tragic time of their young lives. I wish our donations could replace the irreplaceables that had accumulated over the years, but I Pray that they will be able to keep the wonderful family memories they have stored up alive . Sincerely, Frank and Lila Dooley Knew many families there during the 60s thru the 90s. One of my oldest and best friend lived in Oak Valley. Maybe some of you might remember him and his family, The were Jim and Helen Moss and they had four children, 3 boys and 1 girl. They all attended RC grammar school and attended the local RC Church. I bowled on the Church Bowling League back in the 60s or 70s,(?). I'm fast approaching 84 yrs of age, (May 23rd), and my memory ain't what it used to be. Many fine memories of the area. Moved from Bellmawr, NJ 10/7/94, to Las Vegas, NV. Been on vacation ever since.

Not sure if anyone thought of this but is there a storage unit in the area where some of the items donated can be stored until they are needed? Obviously they are not going to need everything until their home is rebuilt or they find another home to live in. Can someone try talking to a storage unit in the area that may donate one to the family. It's just a thought.

Please inform me where I can drop off donations and for how long is the drop off going to be held to do so. Iam so sorry to hear this tragedy for this family if there is anything we can do for the parents and children don't hesitate to contact me, we are a military family and to help and donate is nothing we wouldn't do for any family in need.
