Space Coast Never Forgets/Mexico Beach Fundraiser

Donation protected
On February 23rd, a small group of fellow Space Coast residents are headed to the Panhandle, but we need your help because we aren’t going empty-handed! We’ve set up this GoFundMe with a goal of $2000 in order to purchase much-needed supplies for the communities directly impacted by Hurricane Michael. We will be delivering them to the Ground Zero Mexico Beach White Tent (https://m.facebook.com/gzmbwt/), an organization run by local residents to distribute supplies and provide assistance. It’s been almost four months since Hurricane Michael (a Cat 4 Hurricane with sustained winds of 155mph — but let’s be honest, it was a Cat 5) made landfall on Florida’s “Forgotten Coast”. Since that time, news outlets outside of local coverage have remained largely silent about the storm and its devastating impact on residents. Though they have made headway, there is still SO much rebuilding left to do. The need for daily essentials is still immediate. I know we can do this! We are spreading the message that those of us here on the Space Coast (and all of Florida and the rest of the country!) will not forget the Forgotten Coast. With your help, much-needed and requested supplies will be purchased, like feminine products, diapers, pet food, cleaning products, batteries and anything else from the Ground Zero tent’s wish list (their FB page shares each day). We understand more than anyone the precariousness of Hurricane season. How one track shift or wobble can save or destroy entire communities. The residents of Mexico Beach, Panama City Beach, and Port St. Joe MATTER. Let’s prove it to them!
