Mireille’s Voice Box

Hello. My name is Micayla and I am looking to raise money to get my sister a Tobii Dynavox, which is an eye movement communicator that allows her to form words and speak with us through the machine. Let me explain a little bit about her. Mireille is a quadriplegic with a trach. Meaning that she can't swallow or speak. When she was 18 months old, she had drowned in a pond and was considered dead for a few minutes. But the paramedics and KelLee (our mom) We're able to revive her. Because of her being dead for a few minutes her brain didn't save her physical ability. It saved all of her cognitive and repaired that part of her brain. But all of her physical ability was gone. She has had many surgeries over the years and had been told many times that she would not make it past 13. She is now going to be 21 this year. Needless to say, she proved doctors wrong. She had a box some time ago, but it broke down. So for the last 6-7 years, she hasn't had a voice. And I would love for her to have one. It cost a lot and there is no way I can afford it on my own and neither can our family. So, I am calling my community to arms. Please help me give her a voice. She is an amazing person and has such a beautiful soul. She is sarcastic, she loves music and most of all, she loves everyone.
