Help Me Kick Cancer's Butt!
Donation protected
Hey everyone. It's Marissa/ Milo. If you know me you know that I don't really ask for help. I try to be independent and self sufficient. Unfortunately Iife has thrown me a curve ball that I was really unprepared for.
I was recently diagnosed with APL which is short for Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. My platelet levels are dangerously low and it has caused me to bruise very badly very easily. My blood isn't clotting like it should so bleeding out is a scary possiblity any time I want to leave my bed. I can't have visitors unless my white blood count is high enough to fight off anything that can be brought in.
I'm currently at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The doctor is telling me that I'm looking at a month in here and then about a year of out patient treatments. Those are looking like every day Monday through Friday, a few hours each for a month on and then a month off. Seems kind of daunting right now but I want to beat this so I will do the treatments, no questions asked. I also know this is the best possible place I could be in my current condition. Everyone is very kind and helpful. Things are looking good so far. Positivity is key in this kind of situation and I know I can beat this cancer.
My life isn't just this illness though I'm a 25 year old nerd. I watch Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Star Wars and Marvel movies. I'm the oldest of 6 and my mom is my absolute biggest hero. She's currently fighting her own battle with Lupus and Fibromyalgia. I draw my strength from her. I have a 7 year old mini schnauzer named Stewie who is my best friend and I miss him dearly. I hope he knows I will be home soon. I am a certified pharmacy tech and I really hope to get back to work cause I actually enjoy doing what I do.
So guys in conclusion, I am asking for some financial help. I can't work right now and could use help with the medical bills that I have coming in. Whatever you can donate will be greatly appreciated. $1 would mean the world honestly. And even if you can't donate, maybe share the link or post so we can get the word out.
Thank you so so so very much!
