Kathryn Jenkins   MANDEVILLE, LA
On August 28, 2013, Kelly O 'Mahoney was diagnosed with a very rare type of brain cancer, anaplastic astrocytoma. After two brain surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy the tumor is still growing and doctors believe Kelly's best chance for survival is a clinical trial at MD Anderson hospital in Houston. This trial is not in the O'Mahoney's medical network and insurance has denied them this treatment. The O'Mahoney family will have to personally pay the over $200,000.00 of costs to have Kelly in this important clinical trial that we believe will cure her brain cancer. Everyone who loves Kelly knows what a beautiful, strong, and determined women she is and we know she can beat this cancer.

So many of you have asked how you can help. Along with asking for continued prayers we have put this page together to help defray some of the out of pocket expenses incurred during Kelly's treatment at M D Anderson. You can donate directly on this page or you can mail a check to:

Chase Bank
3500 Hwy 190
Mandeville, LA 70471
Checks should be made out to Kelly O'Mahoney and the account number: ######### should be noted on the check. Please contact me through this page for the account number.

The Bank accepts checks only (no cash)
Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support!

Update 3

Thank you all for your continued prayers, help and financial support. Kelly was fighting very hard and seemingly doing well in her fight to beat her brain cancer despite some daily difficulties. A couple of weeks ago Kelly experienced a sudden decline and went from walking, talking and doing normal activities of daily living to not being able to take care of herself and in constant pain. Kelly was admitted to the hospital and later was put in Hospice care.
The brain tumor has become aggressive and caused swelling in the brain. They have pulled her from the clinical trials at MD Anderson but they are still using a lot of alternative medications and therapy. Larry, Susie, Danielle, Sean and Heather are caring for Kelly around the clock and Kelly's funds are helping to pay for her care and treatment. We are still praying and hoping for a miracle for Kelly and appreciate all you are doing for the entire O'Mahoney family during this very difficult time.

Susie, I don't know if you remember me or not, but my husband Russell Cedarleaf Coached Kelly's soccer team for several years. I saw Kelly's name come across the front desk here at Church of the King for prayer, but it just never occurred to me that it was "your" Kelly. Please tell Kelly that we love her and will continue to keep her and your family in our prayers. God is a God of healing and restoration. All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to his purposes.
