Hi, My Name is Sara and I was fortunate enough to be chosen to go abroad next year for schooling!
The TRIP to ITALY is for 11 MONTHS.
Of the $12,000 cost Rotary paid 1/2 and now I need help fundraising the over 1/2.
You might be aware that I attend Lakeland Union High School and I am a Junior. I was only 1 person to be chosen to go to Italy for our entire Central States Rotary Districts!
I am ecstatic! Elated!! Amazed beyond BELIEF! My friends even suggested that I start a blog to help bring my family and friends along with me through out my journeys. http://walkingnewground.tumblr.com/
I've known since a very young age I wanted to do something amazing with my life, and I truly believe this is the start to it. Although it may sound like a "vacation", it's not. It will be the hardest year of my entire life, but it will also be the best year of my life. I will learn so many new things about different cultures, and completely submerge myself in a strange place where I will need to build a better sense of self.
But I need help. Our next payment is due February 16th of $2,500 and well we don't have anything to go towards it. We were able to fundraiser the first $1,200 in payments through various craft shows and bake sales. The timing financially wasn't the greatest but God is.
As my grandmother so gracefully said, "The family has been working like crazy. They ( Susan) has been hand making things from mittens to candy and setting up on weekends at inside booths. If you could help it would be nice. She has never asked you to buy things season after season. If you know John and Sue please consider."
I'm just so happy I have the support of my friends and family along my adventure. I'm astonished what the community can do for one another. Words cannot do my feelings of gratefulness any justice. I am truly thankful for all you guys helping me get up and begin the biggest adventure of my life :)
