Revive One of The Unsung Heroes of 70s Rock

I was a founder-member of the rock band City Boy, which enjoyed some success in the 70s and early 80s - seven albums and a top-ten hit with "5705" in 1978. I co-wrote 33 out of the total catalogue of around 72 songs. The creator of City Boy's website describes the band as one of "the unsung heroes of Seventies Rock." Many people - then and since - describe the music of the band as "timeless," and I have often been told that I should reform the band. I have enough material compatible with the City Boy genre for an eighth album, and the recording of these songs would be the first stage of the process. Only one of the former members has any interest in this pursuit. I am determined to bring City Boy's music - along with a fresh, contemporary album - to new generations of people whom I know would enjoy this music!

I have spent most of my working life in education - teaching Math, Music and English - and although I have never deliberately raised the issue of my one-time career, as often as not students will ask something like "have you ever done anything else except teach, sir?" and when that happens, I will slowly, carefully intimate what I used to do...!

Thus, there have been many young people over the years who have sought out City Boy's music, and, most of the time, they are totally overwhelmed with what they find - hence, my usage of the most common statement that they make: "this music is timeless."

It's that sort of comment that has really driven me to have the ambition that I am currently harbouring - none of the other ex-members (except Roy Ward) have any interest in such a project - so, at the age of 68 (still teaching), armed with the encouragement from Junipher (my unbelievably talented Kenyan partner: award-winning songwriter, poet, interior and exterior designer, fashionista... I could go on!), I am determined to press on...
