Come to Ellen's aid for beloved kitty Autumn
Donation protected
This campaign is to come to Ellen Blonder's aid for her beloved kitty, Autumn, in emergency care, and whom so many of us have read about.
It is not difficult to describe Ellen's habitual and heroic life-saving of community cats. She is an active trapper and gets the friendlies, friendless and neediest kitties off the street, out of danger and into excellent homes with loving care. She is indefatigable in her rescue ethic and practices, and known to sacrifice money and time and days off as well as working days at ungodly hours, all for the love of vulnerable kitties.
Autumn is at the Harford E.R. in Bel Air, referred there for urgent case management today by her regular vet after a visit to him at Hillendale. She hasn't eaten or eliminated in 3 days, is lethargic, has pneumonia, and was found via x-ray to have an obstruction and blockage, source yet unknown. She is not herself and the referring vet suggested sensitive imaging tests -the gold standard is an ultrasound - to diagnose the cause. Ellen knows Autumn to have a great appetite and to run for the bowl!
Autumn is on an IV, under the vet care and in boarding at the E.R. slated to have an ultrasound first thing in the morning. She will have numerous key testing done, including CBC, hematocrit, alternate angle radiographs, and is under observation overnight. Additional protocols include antibiotics and medicines to encourage elimination. She may have a surgical option, and we will update tomorrow once we have more complete data.
This is an expensive undertaking. We ask for what you can spare, to pay forward to Ellen, to support one of our very best and tireless rescuers at this time of urgent need. Ellen spent $166 at Hillendale and $1400 towards the lowest estimate of $1706, and so the kickoff amount is what she knows will have been spent today, $1872.
I am organizing this on Ellen's behalf and all monies will be sent to her same-day.
