STOLEN GUITAR/MACBOOK/IPAD/EQUIPMENT in BARCELONA.

At about 1pm near the beach in Barcelona just before I was able to check into my hotel I stopped for a break and to take a rest and get some sun. My rental car was broken into and all my music equipment and personals amounting OVER $5000 were stolen. The window seal was wedged with a piece of rolled paper, the door had been jimmied rather easily and quickly. According to local police, this is and has become a very high area for theft where people are often targeted by watchers and spotters. Tourist often carry bags and luggage and are targeted. Unfortunately for me these thieves hit the jackpot, as I had yet to check into my hotel and had everything with me. I did not have trunk space as I my rental is a mini type and there is not enough room for my guitar in the trunk area, only my suitcase. My backpack and guitar were in the backseat. After being at the beach for about 45 minutes, I returned to grab a blanket and noticed my lights were flashing. There was a small piece of paper wedged in the window seal, my backpack and guitar were nowhere to be found. I searched the immediate area for suspicious people, then proceeded to the nearest police department to file a report. According to the locals there is a ring of theft going on quite regularly. Oftentimes by the same group of people responsible for a large majority of theft in the area. A lot of the theft gang apparently rolls around on scooters and motorcycles to spot and get close to people's cars as well as providing quick getaway and the ability to escape down the many alleys and small streets just across from the beach in the barrios of Barcelona. In hindsight, there is almost nothing I could have done to prevent this as I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. As for the thieves, they definitely had a good hit. They took a priceless Fender Stratocaster ($750) that I've had and traveled the world with for several years. Also in the guitar case was a sennheiser e945 mic ($150) a polyphonic tuner pedal ($50), Brett Mason custom overdrive pedal ($250), and a boss Loop Station ($150), as well as several chords and cables ($100). In my backpack they came away with a brand new 2018 MacBook Pro 15" ($2000), a 2017 iPad ($350) over $1,500 cash, and over $500 of personal items and jewelry/gifts I had purchased for friends. Yeah... They got me good. all of this is material stuff, and I will replace it all one way or another, It is not beyond me to ask for help, especially with this kind of theft, I can replace everything, but it did take me quite a while to accumulate all this gear. If you can contribute to help me replace my livelihood I would be forever grateful and in debt and would be able to continue my work and dreams on the road. Thank you God Bless.
