Pelayo Emergency Housing Fund

The living situation I am in right now is bad for my health. Fuzzy white and black mold grows back every few days and water leaks in through the walls every time it rains. I share the bathroom and kitchen with neighbors who have been openly racist to me, saying things like “Fuck you Mexican” or trying to call me Guatemalan as an insult. I have mental health problems, back pain from a car accident and I feel distressed everyday over things I can’t control. I am in an emergency housing situation and I need help raising $1,000 for regular deposit and an “at risk” deposit so I can move. The “at risk” deposit is because I have an eviction on my record, I recently found out, three years later, I have an eviction on my record that was filed against me three days after I had moved from Portland, Oregon to Lopez Island, WA. I was never able to dispute it as I didn’t see it. To get rid of the eviction on my record would be a $1,000 gamble on if the judge would agree to rescind it, if I could get the rental company to acknowledge that they served me after I moved.
