Friday morning December 7th Kailynn was crossing the street to school when a driver turned against a red light and hit Kailynn knocking her several feet. Kailynn was rushed to Rogue Hospital where they found several breaks in her back. Kailynn is suffering from nightmares and also having difficulty sleeping due to the pain. Kailynn will have a long road to recovery with lots of physical therapy and therapy to cope with the nightmares. Amber and Ryan are having to make many adjustments in order to be home to help Kailynn and make sure her healing process will be as smooth as possible. Amber will be taking time off work and Ryan has had to postpone going to the police academy just to be with Kailynn. Moreover, they have private insurance which will result in numerous bills. Due to the length of time for healing that is required for these types of injuries any type of settlement will be far out. I am setting up this account so that we can join together and help this family during this time of need and suffering. If you can help to ease their burden just a little I knows they will appreciate it from the depths of their hearts. Please share if you can't donate, getting the word out helps!

I just wanted to first say thank you community for all the help my family has received during this time of my daughters accident. She has gone back to school full time and barely managing her pain. She is going back to counseling for PTSD and panic when she is in a car now and has physical therapy. This is a long expensive journey for our family and all the help support has made a difference ❤️

Today Kailynn went and saw her orthopedic doctor her compressed fractures are healing good but she is still in a lot of pain. We are going to try for the end of January for her to go back to school. She is now able to start physical therapy which we are hoping will help her pain get better. We are also get her weekly therapy she has still been having a hard time sleeping and had a panic attack today when she had to get X-rays at her appointment. Please keep praying and sharing this because right now we are paying for all of this out of pocket till we can get everything figured out with the insurances and settlement.

This is Amber Kailynn’s Mom. We just wanted to first off say thank you to every single one of you and your love and support you have been pouring out to us. We have good days and bad days but try to focus on the positive each day and be grateful Kailynn will heal over time. Our positive our updates is that Kailynn has finally washed her hair which was huge! She has been able to get out of bed and wrap presents for all her siblings and for a home tutor over to help her with school work. We also have a counseling appointment set up to start helping her with the depression and PTSD. Kailynn is still stuck in bed almost 24/7 and in constant pain but being strong and trying to wing her off of pain pills. Thank you again for all the love and support everything helps! Merry Christmas everyone ❤️

To begin this update the family would like to extend a huge thank you to the community for all of the outreach done for them. Restaurants donating and delivering meals, donations through this campaign, and all the secret Santas leaving goodies on their doorstep. They cannot express how much they appreciate each act of kindness and donation.

Now down to business...

Kailynn had her first doctor visit since she left the hospital. Due to an increase in pain they have to postpone any physical therapy for a minimum of another three weeks and they have had to readjust het pain management regimined. Hey primary care doctor is also referring her to a mental health counselor to help work through the nightmares and emotional trauma from the event. Despite this, Kailynn was able to get out of the house for a short bit today to enjoy the fresh air!!

Unfortunately, the family has had to retain legal counsel as no one has reached out to them; the police, insurance company, or even the school.

This is only the beginning to a long journey. please continue to lift the family up in prayer during this journey.

A big thank you to everyone! Merry Christmas!!!
