This is the wonderful song that we have been teaching Eddie everytime he has a meal with us. But I find it even more appropriate at this time as the VanStrahlen family is so thank for for the blessings around them. Even more so that Eddie was adopted from unbelievable and very difficult circumstances when Jenny and Cris (Eddie's parents) thought they would not be able to adopt anymore children. Eddie is our sweet, 13-month old god son.
The VanStrahlens are in need of more blessings. I am writing on behalf of the VanStrahlen family. As you may know Eddie has been one sick little peanut. He has finally been diagnosed with Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). MRSA is a very serious, very difficult, antiobiotic-resistant bacterial infection.
What turned into what seemed like a short hospital stay to deal with an infected lymph node, has turned into something much more serious. Eddie is now on his 10th day of hospitalization.
Even though the VanStrahlen's have medical insurance, their out-of-pocket medical and aftercare expenses are (and will be) very large. As well as the additional burden of Jenny not being able to work. (Double whammy of incurring medical expenses AND not being able to earn money.) It will be a long road for our little peanut to get better and to get his immune system to a place where he will not have recurring MRSA infections. But this CANNOT be done without financial means for the VanStrahlens.
