Coro Calliope At Carnegie Hall

The musical repertoire of Choir Callìope, led by director Esther Haarbeck, includes works spanning the period from Baroque to contemporary, both a cappella and for chorus and instruments.

Along their musical path, Choir Callìope has cultivated collaborations with other groups and connections with diverse musical genres, from ancient to classical, including references to Gregorian chant, lesser-known literature, jazz, and pop. Ivo Antognini of Ticino, Martin Palmeri, and John Rutter are three of the contemporary composers interpreted by Choir Callìope.

Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) has invited the members of Choir Callìope to participate in the concert ¡Buena Onda! Music From South America, held on Sunday 23 June 2019 in New York’s renowned Carnegie Hall.

The program includes two works of Martín Palmeri: Misa a Buenos Aires, also known as “Misa Tango”; and the world premiere of his Gran Misa (Great Mass).

Choir Callìope, currently distinguished at an internationally recognized level of music, is not a chorus of professionals. DCINY’s invitation offers the Choir the opportunity to interact directly with established orchestras and directors, and to sing works in first performances.

Each of the thirty chorus member registered will have to pay all costs for this unique engagement, including the registration fees, flight, meals, and lodging. Therefore we are seeking special contributions and sponsorships.

So with your donnation you are sponsoring following expenses:

* Registration fee: 850 swiss francs per person
* Sheet music: 25 swiss francs per person
* Flight from Zurich to New York: 750 swiss francs per person
* Lodging double room: 1236 swiss francs per room (only 15 needed)
* Food costs: 50 swiss francs per person
