Airborne Ranger final arrangements

Donation protected

In an act of senseless and unprovoked violence, proud Cheyenne Indian, United States ARMY Airborne Ranger, and Afghanistan combat veteran Lio Rutledge, was shot and killed on Friday, December 04, 2015.

Lio was fataly attacked while walking back to the VA facility where he was receiving treatment for post-traumatic stress (PTS) in Old Town, San Diego, CA.

Lio is survived by his loving family comprised of five children, his 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

A few months ago, Lio began treatment in San Diego, at the ASPIRE Health Center's VA facility located in Old Town. He was focused and dedicated towards alleviating his symptoms of post-traumatic stress and the effort he was putting forth towards his recovery was paying off. A few days before the incident, Lio was in high spirits, he was making everyone laugh and he seemed hopeful for the future ahead. He was making progress. Sadly, his life was cut too short.

In his absence, we request your contribution to help ease the burden of burial costs, and to make the holidays the best we can for his family and five children.

As a community, let's show our gratitude to Lio for his selfless service to his country.

Our goal of $12500 USD will go directly to his family.

Please help us honor a fallen brother and show his family that we all care.

We thank you kindly, from the bottom of our hearts.

Lio Rutledge's legacy to the world is his five children, whom with your help, will grow up to be positive contributors to society and to our way of life.

Lio is not forgotten! we have raised the goal for this family in response to the multiple donations coming in! we are overwhelmed that the ASPIRE team will be able to help this family because of you...the donors! the family is going to be able to celebrate LIO'S LIFE!
