Kori David Jayce Born @25 weeks
he is in NICU at Maine Medical, he is Having very trying moments and His Mom NIKKI and father DAVID (JAY) are faced with very hard times! Nikki has always worked hard up until 10 days ago when Kori was born. She has never asked for help. Jay is working hard to support the family. Kori has twin siblings 9 months old also born early. His 3 other sisters and brother are in school and would love for their brother to come home to make the family complete. 1 car that has to be used for David to travel to work and limited resources & money along w/ sick babies at home Nikki is unable to be at her baby boy Kori's side as much as she would love to be. They receive no state assistance aside from Medicaid for the children they pay full rent, & all other house hold costs. All donations, support, prayers & passing this link along is so appreciated. I pray everyone helps me reach our goal or exceed it so we can help this family get the help they need during this hard time. Thank you in advance. Much love to you all❤
One day shy of a Month Old, Kori David had a very hard night last night, He had a spell with his breathing, now he is placed in a "Bag" that is full of oxygen and he will be in that until The Doctors say Otherwise. My Sister in law and David are scared and upset.. The Snow storm is preventing them from being able to travel. There are day thy two trips up to Maine med maybe a possibility with set backs such as this.. I feel so bad for them, even trying to place myself and emotions where they are right now is hard to do and I pray they get through this rough time... Thank you to all who has been a part of this journey, your donations, prayers, thoughts are very appreciated.. Please share this ðŸ‘. Keep praying for Kori that he gets thru this and for the family too.. MuCH LOVE to all of you and God Bless each and everyone of you â¤
Hello everyone!! Kori is doing much better he is still in Maine. His brain bleed has not gotten any worse, he's now up to 5lbs 8oz lil chunky boy:) during my visit the other day I got Kori to eat all his feeding from a bottle the last 2 days we have not tried the bottle he's had some shots & was a lil sleepy so we figured why stress him the nurses are going to try today again. He truly is such a blessing it's been a long 2 months but I'm just happy he's been improving! I can not wait till he's home with us & we can get back structure back in our household. It's definitely been a struggle to keep 5 children at home happy & also feel like I've been with Kori enough i still get very sad when I leave him but I know they need me at home too. Thank you everyone for keeping my baby & my family in your prayers! David & I really appreciate it!
Kori had a brain scan Friday it showed improvement. We were so excited to receive good news!! He is now 3lbs 10oz . He has almost doubled in size so hard to believe. I visit with him as much as I can. We now have a second vehicle which makes it a lot easier for us. I am still not working & things are going ok thanks to a lot of you. I wanted to say thank you to everyone who donated their hard earned money you lifted a lot of stress off of us. Kori is still expected to be in there till his due date which would of been 4/22 hard to believe he's already been with us for almost 2 months & has gone through so much but continued to fight & stay strong. We are very proud parents. Please continue to share his page & ty for the continued support! Bless you all!!
*UPDATE* Kori is 45 days old today. He weighs 3lbs 6oz, he's breathing on his own. The IVH has stayed the same grade 2&3 he still has scans every 4 days. But at this point no need to proceed with anything further than monitoring him closely. He is such a blessing! & such a lil' trooper. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT & PRAYERS!
I will be updating tonight! Thank you all for your support & prayers!
Hi! Kori has had a few good days I was very excited to spend Valentines Day with him the awesome NICU nurses also put him in a red & white onesie...such a cutie pie! Kori had a scan Friday & the IVH had gotten slightly worse on the grade 3 side:( I'm thinking it may of been from his episode the other night that I'm sure stressed his lil body & brain. Next one Tuesday I am praying & trying to remain positive & hope for the best. It's getting close if much more changes he will have to get surgery & have the shunt put in. It's been a long month & we appreciate all this support that everyone has given us. We are looking for a van & should have one by the end of this week. But we still have every day expenses along with the cost of traveling back & forth. Thank you for sharing our sons page & helping our family. I will update again soon. Much love from my family!
Great update! Thanks for keeping us posted Nik! Xo
Hello! Update: Kori was taking off oxygen but has been put back on at 25% still lower than before but when we took him completely off he had a few too many spells. He is now 2lbs 5ozs! & he actually wearing some clothes, we're trying to see if he can hold his own body temperature by turning down his isolate a little every couple days! IVH has stayed the same grade 3 on one side & grade 2 on the other. He did have a scan this morning 2/11 & I have not gotten results yet! I couldn't make it to see him yesterday I'm very excited to see him tonight!
My nephew is so loved and look at only 26 days he has brought together a community. That is amazing.
This is a new picture of Kori he is 26 days old in it! He's up to 2 lbs 4 oz. Hes having 1-2 spells a day! But he's tolerating his feedings & gaining weight. We are truly blessed! Thank you!
Thank you Courtney! Haven't met her yet! Kori's second middle name is Jayce! I absolutely love that name!
My friend Courtney just had her baby Jace at 27 weeks and they are also at the NICU. If you haven't met her I'm sure you could be a great support to each other :).
Hi! Update on Kori from his mommy! He's doing good taking all his feedings & growing everyday although he is still having "spells" here & there. But he seems to be feeling good! Thank you for everything from all of us! Please continue to share Kori's page & story! We appreciate it!
Hello!! Thank you so much for the overwhelming amount of support. You have helped lift a lot of stress & pressure off me. UPDATE: Kori has had a great day today he 2lb 3oz. Nikki prayers are with you my dear friend!! Please let me know if you need a hand..
Kori has a blood transfusion today. It went well & he seems to be pretty content now, I'm sitting beside him now he's so precious & has been through so much in his 18 days of life. I have no heard any results from this morning scan I'm hoping for the best but I'm slowly realizing you never know what tomorrow brings & I'm learning to be thankful for him being with me everyday that passes by. He weighed in at 2lbs 1oz. Yyyyaaaayyyyy!!! I will post again soon. Thanks for praying, donating, caring about my son & all the positive energy I feel coming our way!!
UPDATE: Hi everyone! Thanks for all the well wishes, prayers, donations & sharing this page. Kori is now 17 days old. He now weighs 1 lb 15 oz he's now back to his birth weight. Kori's last scan came back with the same results still has spinal fluid that has not drained one side is a grade 3 the other a grade 2 although I'm am scared & worried about Kori it makes me happy to know that things stayed the same. He's seems to be very comfortable which is also a positive sign, even peeking at me (pic to soon be posted) when he hears me. I sit beside Kori & read books to him so he can hear my voice. Even though I haven't held him but for the one time. It makes my heart smile just to be with him. His next scan is tomorrow morning 1/31. Thank you again! Nikki~Kori's mommy
I wish I could have donated more. My baby, Gabrielle, was born in December, and I feel a special connection with you and Kori as a result. Thoughts and prayers
